16. Jukebox

Category – History

The Wurlitzer Jukebox was the iPod of its time. In the 1940s and 1950s, people visited the soda shop and fed their nickels into a jukebox, then selected their favorite song to hear the music play. Visual effects pulsed in time to the rhythm. Neon Rainbows flashed inside arched plastic. Bubbles pumped through colorful tubes. Dancers spent their coins to keep tunes going for hours.

Question

·         What was the most popular song ever played on a jukebox? (Hint – The singer once served in the US Army. He loved eating fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. He also wore blue suede shoes.)
